Here's some pics from the show held in Fulton Saturday. There were some really great folks there! I met Micah. He has a great collection! Also attending was the gentleman who calls himself "wldtrky" here on the board. I believe his name is Brad. He also had some great points.
On to the pics!
The first few are of a couple frames from behind us. Notice the giant Dickson in the center!  Shocked Shocked

The next pic is from the same fellow. He was recruiting members for the Northeast Missouri Archaeological Society (you can find them on facebook). Really nice guy. Can't remember his name, but they have a show coming up in Monroe City, Mo. in July, and are being sanctioned by CSAS. This frame is titled "The Grassy Creek Site". Notice the killer Cahokia point found in Monroe County, Mo. (center right)?

Next, a beautiful large flared bit celt (can't remember the finder's name). Man that thing was perfect!!

And then therfe's this piece.

The gentleman who had it said he and his father found it years ago. It was very large, no more than 1/4-1/2 inch thick and perfect except for a small ancient ding on the poll-end. Some type of ceremonial celt or spud. Not sure. It was the first show he'd ever attended, and the first time it had ever been out of the house! Many of us suggested getting some professional hands on it if he ever wanted any respect for the piece. Most of us couldn't agree on the material, but the general consenus was hematite. Priceless!
More to come......

More pics from the show. Lots of awesome stuff, all (or most) local mid-Mo. finds!

A really great show for it's size. Great people, and great food! The local VFW served a combo plate of fried rabbit, boiled crawfish, fried wild fall mushrooms, french fries and chili!!!! I should have taken a pic of a plate of the stuff. Just great!!

Had a great time. I should point out for reference that the frame in your first pic was about 2' x 3' or maybe bigger. I usually just do a walk through at shows, but being there all day, I learned alot. One thing I learned is that my plainview ( pictured center in Chris's last two pics) is not a plainview, but a Firstview. At least that was the general consensus.

Once again, it was great to meet you Chris, and thanks for the pics. I never made it out to the truck to get my camera.

...Chris, this weekend was also the Springdale show..I could not make it to that one either..Looks like there were some great points being displayed. The spud?,WOW!!!!! Thats a really great treasure..Micah, its hard to see the flaking on white points in pic and it is also hard to show a point with its median ridge showing..However, this being the first time I have ever seen your BEAUTIFUL paleo point I am in awe over it..You may have shown it before and I missed it..There is a big differance in status as status goes from Plainview to Firstview..That may be one I would get two top COA,s on..but only if you are curious..Heck it may come back papered a Sloan Dalton..thats one thing you never know..What ever it is its fracking awesome I tell you that..I will post my find of the day tomorrow, yeah Nolia Site threw another nice one at me..I hope to get to some shows this year.I have hope for a great deal of things to go well..But I really want to meet some of you folks.Put face and voice to name and shows are great for that..Great pics Chris and thanks for showing them..that lunch sounded yummy...KnifeHunter

Very nice pictures Chris. That first tray is just spectacular. There sure is a lot of large flint artifacts in Missouri.

Thanks for the pictures.

Looks like a great show and sounds like yall had some fun.  I went to the springdale show, it wasn't too bad, but there were a lot of extra curricular booths, like coins, jewelry, knapping products, but all in all it was nice to see some familiar faces... I know a lot of points exchanged hands as well, so that is a good thing!  I plan on going to Lake Ozark show March 6th maybe I'll see some of you there?

Just so you all know. For next years Fulton show, I am going to try to get as many pros members there as possible. There was enough room this year for another 10 or 15 tables. I think it would be a great meeting place for Missouri pros members. Of course out of staters are welcome too. Just remember. It's always on the second weekend of February. I'll start recruiting later this year.

As I mentioned earlier, it was a great show. You could pretty much just walk away from your table and have a feeling it was safe. Just a good bunch of folks!
I could have taken many more pics there. Plenty of great displays. I need to get a picture of Larry Underwood's cache display up. He gave me a poster of the display. I may scan it & post it. Larry also had a couple really nice mammoth/mastodon teeth (I think one of each) that I wish I'd gotten a pic of.
There were also a couple gun dealers there, and one person with marbles, coins, militaria, etc., and another with natural gemstones (amethyst, etc.).
I may go to the Lake show. Is that Steve Lee's show?

Hey Chris, it was nice to meet you. Sorry, I thought I had intro'd myself, Brad Simmerman. Considering the relatively light turnout (due the Springdale show being the same day) it was a nice show ! We enjoyed the displays + being able to see the personal finds. Steve Lee's show IS the 1 that is March 6th, and it is held in Lake Ozark, near Bagnell Dam. I will check with Steve so I can be positive, but I think it is the American Legion Hall where his show is held. There is also the old Jeff. City Show (now held at Lake Ozark) that Terry Allen puts on, but that's usually in August.

Micah, that Pike Co. + Firstview (or Plainview) are real SMOKERS ! I know what creek I would be in first after the rains, lol.    Very nice display.

Take care, Brad

Brad,
You may have intro'd yourself. I'm kinda bad with names.
I've been to the fall Lake show (Jeff City show) a couple times. I wanted to go to Steve's show last year, but had to work. I don't care much for the GSLAS shows for some reason. I try to attend the ISAS show in Collinsville every year. One of the best shows in the country, and not too far out of the way. Those guys that run the ISAS are a good bunch of folks.
Otherwise, I'm content with the small local shows. Much more down to earth, and many of the collections are mostly personal finds. Alot of fun and, as I mentioned before, great food!

Chris, I always try to make Collinsville + havent missed it in about 6 years I guess. I'll be there from Friday afternoon til Sunday sometime. I plan on having a cpl of tables at Steve's show and at Terry's show at LOZ as well. (The Jef City Show)  The smaller shows are more fun, but Collinsville is sure an awesome time !  Then you have to go climb Monks Mound, to kind of put things in perspective, lol. Hope to catch you again soon.
